About The Show

Boldly Going Somewhere is what happens when you assemble a group of like-minded, sharp-tongued geeks and hit the record button. We’re a weekly podcast that covers a variety of topics including comics, video games, TV shows and cinema. We also post articles occasionally on the same subjects. So please join us as we make the jump to lightspeed and traverse the endless expanse of nerdom! New episodes are posted every Tuesday.

Our show is designed to have any number of different participants any given week, so you may find yourself wondering who you’re listening to. Here’s some information about our core team:

MAIN HOST

Louis

Louis

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 1 – FORCE-COLORED GOGGLES

When Louis was a child, his father painstakingly recorded the audio track from a television broadcast of A New Hope, the cassette of which wore down from daily use. This launched a lifelong affair with science fiction and fantasy. He’s a fan of many obscure and wonderful television shows, has an unhealthy obsession with computers and gadgets, and since 2004 has attended Dragon*Con as an outlet for his inner-dork and a chance to be with geek family.

CO-HOSTS

Andrew

Andrew

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 9 – IN A WORLD…

Probably the youngest of the group, Andrew is still a strong contender with all the other geeks in the crew. While coming onto the gaming scene in his early life with NES, he’s been addicted to them ever since. Do you like science fiction? Do you like SPACE? He’s our resident astronaut-in-wish-he-was-training. He’s relatively new to the convention scene but he’s trying to get more immersed into it as well as cosplaying for them. He also dabbles in writing in his spare time and learning to draw.

Chris (aka Bohler)

Chris

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 7 – COMIC QUANDRIES

Chris is a full time geek who admittedly is half-assing his way through games, comics, movies, and whatever else you got. His first loves are the Hulk, Twin Peaks, the Sega Master System, Batman: TAS, Conan/Robert E. Howard, Superman, and too many characters, stories, and legends to name.

Dustin

Dustin

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 17 – DRAGON ROAD

Dustin has never been cool. Dustin used to wear his Dick Tracy costume literally everywhere. Dinner? Check. Walgreens? Check. Church? Funerals? This trend continues to this day, where a Star Lord jacket is an every day inclusion to his wardrobe. He’s an avid fan of film, gaming, music, costuming, voice-over, and generally anything with a nerdy slant. Speaking of voices, Dustin is also the intro and outro voice of the Podcast and an aspiring voice-over artist.

Felicia

Felicia

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 17 – DRAGON ROAD

Felicia has been into gaming and all things geek since early childhood. She attends several conventions a year and has been cosplaying since 2010. From Star Wars to Dragon Age, she has a deep love for a wide variety of things in the nerdiverse. When she isn’t glued to her sewing machine she enjoys putting way too many hours into Bioware games and binge watching Battlestar Galactica—again.

James

James

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 1 – FORCE-COLORED GOGGLES

James still owns betamax tapes of the original trilogy recorded off of television, was ecstatic when Wolverine’s real name was revealed to be “James”, has owned a number of game consoles, from the Atari 2600 to the Xbox One, and he refuses to believe in Ben Affleck being a decent Batman. He doesn’t think of himself as a geek – he just reads comics, argues sci-fi movie castings, plays video games and occasionally joins in a group costume for conventions. Wait a minute…

Sarah

Sarah

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 11 – THE STAR WARS EU-LOGY SPECIAL

Sarah’s life-long love affair with all things sci-fi and fantasy began at the age of five when she first saw Star Wars and declared that she was going to grow up to marry Han Solo. While her first love will always be Star Wars, you can also find her geeking out over Marvel comics, video games, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harry Potter, and a host of other things too numerous to name. You also find Sarah on our sister site, Avenging Force.

Teija

Teija

FIRST APPEARANCE: EPISODE 11 – THE STAR WARS EU-LOGY SPECIAL

As a kid, Teija spent more time in the worlds between book covers than not, convinced that it was only a matter of time before she would find her own portal to a magical land hidden away in her house. As she got older, the desire to be transported to new worlds drew her to sci-fi and fantasy, where she still immerses herself to this day. Her favorites include Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age, and she’s always looking for her next great adventure. She’s a PC gamer at heart, but owns many consoles, old and new. She named her dog Indiana. Teija also contributes to our sister site Avenging Force.
